    The newsletter contains comments on current events of importance to Africa and an overview of the Institute’s activities as well as its products. The newsletter is published 4–6 times per year
Research, Africanists and publications

    Research is organised in 6 clusters: Agrarian Change, Property and Resources; Conflict, Displacement and Transformation; Cultural Images and Expressions; Globalization, Trade and Regional Integration, and Urban Dynamics.
  • Publications
    The Institute publishes four publication series, all available in pdf format and can be downloaded for free or can be ordered Print on Demand. Monographs and anthologies are published in cooperation with academic publishers of high standing.

    The Institute organises public lectures, conferences and other public events.
Libraries and information services
  • Library
    The Library provides access to many resources in electronic and printed format. There are AfricaLit, the library catalogue, different bibliographic databases, journals and selected internet resources.
Scholarships, grants and guest researchers
  • Scholarships
    The Institute supports studies on Africa in the Nordic countries through six types of grants; travel grants, study grants, scholarships for PhD candidates, Nordic and African Guest Researchers' scholarships and an African Guest Writers' program.
