CAS focuses on research in history, anthropology, archeology and international relations. Members have conducted research in Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Morocco, Nigeria, amongst other countries.

News and events: 

CAS hosted the 4th CRG African History conference in June 2018. 

Research and publications: 

Members of CAS conduct research in African history, archeology, geography, and political science/international relations. Main research areas are East Africa, Horn of Africa, Anglophone West Africa (mainly the Gambia), Tunisia and from 2013 new research activities will be developed in South Africa. 

Teaching in African Studies: 

Members of CAS offer courses related to African history and culture within the Middle East Studies and Social/Cultural Anthropology programs.
