Panel 127: The Zimabwean Crisis beyond the first steps of political settlement (Beatrice Schlee)

Panel Organiser: Beatrice Schlee

The Zimbabwean crisis seemed to be irresolvable for nearly a decade. Nevertheless, a negotiation process started in ‘07 will probably result in a government of national unity with doubtful outcome. The panel wants to focus on past, present and future aspects of the Zimbabwean crisis. Presentations will focus on the political and economical crisis and its legacies; the negotiation process, the strengths and weaknesses of the internal actors and the impact of regional and international pressure.
