Panel 33: Art scenes in Africa and the global art world (Ficquet Eloi)

Panel Organiser: Ficquet Eloi

Africa has known numerous international festivals since decolonization. In the last ten years, their numbers have multiplied. Among these are not only „mega-productions“ reflecting the latest trends in the global art world, but also smaller events, many of which engage with a wide range of artistic expression. This panel will tease out and elucidate key issues concentrated in this mode of bringing together artistic spheres, publics, and authorities in power.
