Abstract
Democracy does not work where the rule of law thrives. Nigeria is a case in point that seems to disprove this claim. Through an examination of the various aspects of democratic process and governance in Nigeria, which country is due to conduct its election next year, one seeks to either establish or disprove the extent of the validity of the claim about the relation between democracy and the rule of law.
