AbstractLife-force is a familiar topic in physics, hermeneutic phenomenology,Eastern philosophy and of course African philosophy; but the metaphysics, logic and epistemology of life-force are not exactly the same in all of these tradiditions. Consequently, this essay aims at making a pure philosophical analysis of, principally, the logic and epistemology of life-force in the African tradition. We intend to explore the weak and strong points of the life-force principle in African tradition in order to decipher a consistent methodological orientation that could be relevant to the vocations of science, politics and economy.
