| Abstract | This paper explains how the impetus of mobile technology in Malian society is creating new forms of both geographical and social mobility. New mobility's and connections are being established and are explained by various actors. The mobile phone has a different importance for the urban intellectual elite and rural youth, including seasonal migrants in cities. Access to this mobile technology is related to certain power plays and claims that (re-)create new processes of in- and exclusion. |
