The African Studies Centre Leiden (ASCL) offers a PhD position within the GROW Programme, focusing on solution-oriented research addressing urgent challenges in Africa, such as climate change, governance, and sustainable development. The programme involves collaboration across Leiden University and four other Dutch universities. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in legal pluralism in Africa, focusing on traditional justice, governance, and related themes like gender and access to justice, with research in Anglophone Africa, South Africa, or Namibia.
