Within AEGIS, a number of dynamic thematic research groups – called Collaborative Research Groups (CRGs) – work on specific thematic areas within the broad scope of African Studies. In addition to undertaking research, CRGs facilitate discussion, exchange of information and collaboration between scholars around the world working on Africa and Africa-related topics, in addition to organising occasional public and closed activities or events and contributing to other aspects of the AEGIS network. Collaborative Research Groups may include individual members from any academic institution (or independent scholars) anywhere in the world. One does not need to be affiliated to an AEGIS institution to be a member of a CRG.
Guidelines on how to apply to establish a CRG can be found here.
Information for existing CRG Coordinators on the CRG Annual Grant Competition can be found here.
