Side events

Side events are an important part of the European Conference on African Studies. They complement the official panel programme and provide an opportunity for informal dialogue among the conference's participants as well as a chance to network and share information and experiences.

On Thursday 16 June and Friday 17 June there will be a wide variety of activities in Uppsala; from book launches and photographic exhibitions to live music and research centres and publishers' receptions. On the open stage at Ekonomikum three researchers will present the latest books in the Africa Now series published by NAI and Zed Books. NAI's guest writer 2011 Chris Mlalazi will also take to the stage.
